Black-Tie Basics Men Need to Know

Monday, May 13, 2013

Men often exude an air of confidence wherever they go. Unlike women who often go to extreme lengths to prepare themselves when going out, most men just take a quick shower, shave, splash aftershave, get dressed, and they’re ready to go. It seems they can pull off any look without exerting too much effort. There is a catch, though; ask a man to prepare for a black-tie formal and they would shift into panic gear.

Yes, it seems that attending a black-tie event catches most men off guard. You can just imagine how catastrophic this would mean if it were a man’s own wedding he needed to dress up for! However, attending a black-tie formal is something a man is bound to do at least once (perhaps several times) during his lifetime. This article is going to give you a rundown of what a black-tie formalwear usually consists of. This could greatly help you pull off the basic black-tie look. It would be a good idea to go over these first before you go out to the nearest store selling Toledo tuxedos just to make sure you’d get the best suit.

First things first, a tuxedo is practically an upgraded or more formal version of a suit with a few key differences. For one, woolen woven fabric is mostly used for a tuxedo. It also has lapels, which could be any one of these: notched, peaked, or shawl, and these usually contrast with the jacket fabric. This is the reason why satin or silk is often used for tuxedo lapels, as its softness perfectly contrasts with wool. Another thing that’s noticeable on a tuxedo is the buttons, which are normally covered with the same fabric used on the lapels.

Now that you have that we have that down pat, it’s time to take on the tuxedo shirt. Whatever the color of your tuxedo is, an immaculate white, starched shirt is a staple. However, unlike typical dress shirts, a tuxedo shirt’s front panel, especially the part that is visible under the jacket, is usually pleated. Moreover, the placket is covered to conceal the buttons and prevent these from messing up the pleats.

Next is the cummerbund, which is considered an integral part of the ensemble, with integral being the operative word. This means you can never pull the look off minus this small piece of accessory. What is a cummerbund, anyway, you might be wondering. Well, it’s somewhat like a belt, except you wear it on your belly. It helps create a smooth line over your belly, and most importantly, it keeps your shirt tucked in. It’s the perfect complement to a bow tie. Here’s the thing, though. If you plan to wear a waistcoat or a vest, forego the cummerbund. A cummerbund and a waistcoat practically serves the same purpose, except the former would make you look even more dashing, sophisticated, and elegant. You also need to make sure that your cummerbund is the same color as your bow tie, for obvious reasons.

Finally, a pair of black patent leather shoes is the standard for black-tie formals. While there are many variations to this, a lace-up pair usually does the trick.

Knowing these would help you choose the perfect formalwear for your next black-tie affair.

My 1st Guess Bag and wallet

Last year was the year that I was most addicted in buying bags online. And guess is one of those bags that I purchased. I actually had coach, nine west, aldo and others. That I can call addiction! But this year I still did not order online but I bought one here. Not super addiction this year! Anyway, these is my 1st guess bag with a pair of wallet. Most of my friends around love this bag and so I do. The wallet is super nice also. I bought this for sale as always. Guess bags and wallets are here too in Norway but wow, they are expensive super. Two years ago I did not notice any guess near here. But now I saw a lot in the mall and they are original and nice of course but goodness I have to stop buying purses this time. I have so much here. My next plan is to buy a real watch for me. I am planning to buy it as a gift to myself for my coming birthday. Hope I can find one that is in good price and of course that I like too!

Wishing for a Sexier Self

Saturday, May 11, 2013

I still cannot understand why do some women are not satisfied with how they look. They are pretty and strong women but yet some of them wanted to have some parts of their being emphasized so that they will feel more confident and sexier.

A friend of mine in the Philippines told me how she had her boobs enhanced. I asked her if it was painful. She did not answer yes or no but she said, “sister, if there is no pain, then there is no gain”. Ouch! I can imagine the pain. Surely it was painful. But then she added that the clinic in Manila where she had the enhancement was similar to the breast augmentation montreal in Canada. She said her doctor was trained in the US and so far there is no post operation problems that has arise.

This friend of mine just had that breast surgical augmentation last February and she plans to have an abdominal liposuction in two years time. Why two years, I asked. She said, that’s according to her priority list. She is 100 pounds over her required weight so she will try to lose weight normally and to let go of flabby skin in the arms and stomach, she wanted to have abdominal and upper arm liposuction. Her doctor is one of the trusted doctors in town when it comes to plastic surgeries and cosmetic surgery so she have no second thoughts of getting a liposuction which cost like the liposuction cost montreal in Canada.

I am happy for my friend. I know in due time, she will be a sexier friend and I hope she will be happier and more confident with how she looks.

Proof!

Finally, I found this paper. This is the proof of my gift received last year during my birthday but I just used it two weeks ago. This is full manicure, maybe you can check on my post down here about manicure services here. I am not satisfied but thankful for the gift that I was able to try it. Once again thank you sponsors. Now, my nail polish are almost gone... (lol) but had it for two weeks or so. This gift lasted too long, as it has an expiration for one year!
